Luman Industries Limited is looking for a capable and result-oriented Assistant Manager \u2013 Purchase to independently manage day-to-day purchasing activities, supplier coordination and material planning for our Pantnagar operations. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the right material, right quantity, right quality, right price and right time, while maintaining optimum inventory levels and effectively managing a team of 2\u20133 Purchase Executives.<\/p>\n
The position requires strong hands-on knowledge of ERP\/SAP, MRP and Excel, along with practical experience in purchasing within an IATF 16949 automotive manufacturing environment.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Material Planning & MRP<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
\n
Run and review MRP regularly based on production plans, customer schedules, inventory and lead times.<\/li>\n
Convert MRP requirements into actionable purchase plans.<\/li>\n
Ensure availability of raw materials, bought-out components, packaging and other production-related materials.<\/li>\n
Closely monitor shortages and take proactive action to prevent production stoppages.<\/li>\n
Coordinate with PPC, Production, Stores and Quality for material requirements.<\/li>\n
Maintain optimum inventory without compromising production continuity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Vendor Management<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

Manage approximately 50 suppliers located across India.<\/li>\n
Monitor vendor-wise delivery schedules and ensure timely supplies.<\/li>\n
Conduct regular supplier performance reviews covering delivery, quality, cost competitiveness, responsiveness, capacity and supply risk.<\/li>\n
Follow up on critical materials and delayed supplies.<\/li>\n
Develop alternate suppliers for critical\/high-risk components wherever required.<\/li>\n
Maintain professional and commercially strong relationships with suppliers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Purchase Operations<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

Handle RFQs, quotations, negotiations, purchase orders and amendments.<\/li>\n
Ensure purchase orders are released correctly and on time through ERP\/SAP.<\/li>\n
Negotiate prices, payment terms, freight, MOQ, lead times and other commercial terms.<\/li>\n
Maintain proper purchase documentation and approvals.<\/li>\n
Follow up on open purchase orders and ensure timely closure.<\/li>\n
Identify opportunities for annual cost reduction and productivity improvement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
