Vice President – Operations

Role Purpose:

To lead and manage the end-to-end operations of Luman’s three Pantnagar plants, ensuring excellence in Production, PPC, Purchase, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, Cost and People Management, while improving profitability, productivity, quality and customer delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overall responsibility for three manufacturing plants and achievement of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Productivity targets.
• Lead Production, PPC, Purchase/Procurement, Maintenance, Quality, Stores, Supply Chain and Dispatch through respective HODs.
• Ensure customer schedules through effective capacity planning, material planning, production planning and OTIF delivery.
• Drive OEE, productivity, manpower efficiency, rejection/scrap reduction, cycletime improvement and capacity utilization.
• Lead Purchase cost reduction, supplier development, localization, alternate sourcing and commercial negotiations.
• Strengthen TPM, preventive/predictive maintenance, machine reliability and reduction in breakdowns.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, MSA and customer-specific requirements.
• Own operating budgets and drive improvement in material cost, conversion cost, inventory, working capital and EBITDA.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, automation, Capex and continuous improvement.
• Build a strong performance culture and develop the leadership team across approximately 300 employees.

Candidate Profile:

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical/Production/Automobile/Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• MBA/PGDM preferred.
• 18–25+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in automotive components.
• Minimum 5 years in Plant Head / GM Operations / VP Operations / COO-level responsibility.
• Proven experience handling multiple plants or a large complex manufacturing operation.
• Strong hands-on exposure to Production, PPC, Purchase, Maintenance and P&L is essential.
• Strong practical knowledge of IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3.
• Experience managing 300+ employees and multiple functional HODs.
• Experience in automotive filters and/or brake pads, brake linings or friction materials will be a significant advantage.
• Strong leadership, analytical, commercial, customer-management and problemsolving capability.
